chosen picture for magazine cover

As I have chosen to make a magazine front cover for Little White Lies I need to choose a picture that fits in with the conventions of this magazine. I feel that the image below does this.

Before i started playing around with filters in order to make this picture look like an effective Little White Lies cover I did some retouching of the image as there was a piece of hair that fell oddly onto her face and also I wanted to increase the contrast in the picture. In order to make the contrast stronger I used the burn and dodge tools as it makes the shadows darker without making the whole image darker and the light spots brighter without making it look to bright.
